Spec. Sheet for BA8000:

The BA8000 is a Tactical Body Armor Vest for police and civil uses. Vest is designed and manufactured for best protection of the wearer while keeping it comfortable for wearing while in duty or during everyday activities.

Design:

  • The vest is assembled of front and back parts made possible to split. Flexible system of fixing by shoulder bands and waist flaps with Hook & loop fasteners.
  • Vest has 2 inner pockets, one on front and one on rear side of vest for additional ballistic panels of size 250 x 300 mm. for upgrading protection level of the vest.
  • The design of vest makes possible to remove ballistic protection panels (soft and hard) out of vest for cleaning of vest.
  • The cover of the vest and the soft ballistic panels are visibly marked by a label containing the below listed details:

- Name and address of manufacturer

- Model of ballistic vest

- Class of protection level according to NIJ interim requirements (0101.06 STD.)

- Size

- Lot number

- Serial number

- Date of manufacturing

- Care instructions

  • Shoulder fitting straps are 70 mm. wide, padded with at least 5 mm. of EVA foam for comfort of the wearer.
  • Side fitting closures are wide (200 mm.) for full grasping between front and back panels.
  • Surface material of vest carrier- 600 dn. Polyester or 500 dn. Nylon coated with water repellent material. Different materials may be used upon request.
  • Available colors- Black, Green, Navy Blue. Camouflage colors are available upon request.
  • Weight of vest including soft ballistic panels: Approx. 2.5 kg depending on the size of the vest.

Soft ballistic panels:

  • Ballistic material – (GOLDFLEX) Unidirectional Aramid or Unidirectional High Density Polyethylene.
  • Protection level of full vest is IIIA according to NIJ 2005 interim requirements.
  • Ballistic protection area including front & back protection is approx. 0.3 sqm.
  • The ballistic protection panels are covered with a nylon cover for protecting the ballistic panels from water, dirt and direct sun.

 Warranty, Specific Requests

  • Ballistic protection properties are kept for 5 years when used according to manufacturer's warranty.
  • Vest carrier warranty is affective for 12 months after delivery against manufacturing defects which might be found by the user.

 Available add-ons:

Choose relevant add-ons. Body armor protects the torso - front and back only. If you want to protect your shoulders, neck, sides of groin, you’ll need an add-on.

  • Add-ons will anchor to the vest and protect different parts of the body. There are extra defenses for the shoulders (Shoulderguards), the abdomen (Side protection), the neck (Gorget, or Neckguard) and groin (Groinflap).
  • Make sure that the add-ons you buy will anchor to your basic vest. Also make sure they can be fitted snugly to your body, so they will not constrict your movement

 

Hard ballistic plates (all plates are single curved):

 PLD3:

  • Trauma plate- for reduction of trauma caused by bullet impact.
  • Material- EVA Foam coated with two plies of polycarbonate

 BG6611:

Carry bag for vest.

Production and Finishing:

  • Hook & loop bands have smooth margins for sewing, each end of H&L band is heat cut.
  • Each stitch starts and ends with an overlap of 15 mm.
  • Stitch density is 24-30 stitches in 10 cm.
  • Fabric endings are folded inside and sewed threw all layers of fabric.

It also provides protection against 12 gauge shotgun buckshot (9 pellet) and birdshot.

Type II:

This armour protects against 9 mm FMJ RN (Full Metal Jacketed Round Nose) bullets, with nominal masses of 8.0 g (124 gr) at a reference velocity of 379 ± 9.1 m/s (1245 ± 30 ft/s) and .357 Magnum JSP (Jacketed Soft Point) bullets, with nominal masses of 10.2 g (158 gr) at a reference velocity of 408 ± 9.1 m/s (1340 ± 30 ft/s). 

It also provides protection against threats mentioned in [Type IIA].

Against most handgun threats:

This armour protects against .357 SIG FMJ FN (Full Metal Jacketed Flat Nose) bullets, with nominal masses of 8.1 g (125 gr) at a reference velocity of 430 ± 9.1 m/s (1410 ± 30 ft/s) and .44 Magnum SJHP (Semi Jacketed Hollow Point) bullets, with nominal masses of 15.6 g (240 gr) at a reference velocity of 408 ± 9.1 m/s (1340 ± 30 ft/s). 

It also provides protection against 12 gauge rifled slug, as well as the threats mentioned in [Types IIA, and II].

Grenade shrapnel

Against high-powered rifles:

This armour protects against 7.62 mm FMJ (Full Metal Jacketed) bullets (U.S. Military designation M80), with nominal masses of 9.6 g (148 gr) at a reference velocity of 847 ± 9.1 m/s (2780 ± 30ft/s).

It also provides protection against threats such as 5.56 mm FMJ, .223 remington, .30 carbine FMJ and grenade shrapnel , as well as the threats mentioned in [Types IIA, II, and IIIA].

Type IV: (Armor Piercing Rifle)

  • 0.30 caliber AP

Against armour piercing rifles:

This armour protects against .30 caliber AP (armour piercing) bullets (U.S. Military designation M2 AP), with nominal masses of 10.8 g (166 gr) at a reference velocity of 878 ± 9.1 m/s (2880 ± 30 ft/s). It also provides at least single hit protection against the threats mentioned in [Types IIA, II, IIIA, and III].
