Review: FAB Defense KPOS Scout & Vortex Optics Crossfire Red Dot Review by Israeli ex-Commando Officer
I was a counter-terror officer\instructor in the Israeli navy commando "Shayetet 13", and served a while in the "Shabak". Now part of an active task force.
All of us surrender, whether it is by necessity or comfort considerations, and carry handguns and not rifles. We compromise on accuracy, longer range and faster target acquisition, in short… better shooting, and prefer small lightweight piece we can carry daily.
But sometimes your Glock is just not enough
You need more, you want all it can give you.
I have found the combination of KPOS SCOUT and VORTEX CROSSFIRE the best for this kind of scenarios when you need to shoot farther, faster and more accurate for those of us that carrying a rifle is not an option.
FAB Defense KPOS Scout
The new KPOS SCOUT is very small, lightweight, and easy to use. Smart efficient design. The stock is strong and light, easy to fold, and easy to open. and when open very stable (firmly attached, no shakes). The m4 style charging handle is very comfortable (tough mine needed a few oil drops to work perfectly) and the coking mechanism doesn't hurt your Glock. All components are strong and light. Upper Picatinny rail made of aluminum. The thumb rests are big enough to give comfortable strong grip and small enough, kipping the low silhouette (you don't want parts sticking out). This is part of the main theme of the KPOS SCOUT. It folds to small and safe packable carryable version. The SCOUT design makes him perfect and ready to use whether you are carrying it with your Glock inside or out. Thanks to the foregrip that open into a strong safety mechanism (that will not open by mistake) you can carry it safely with a bullet in the chamber, and be ready to act when needed. And because you don't need any other components to adjust your Glock to the SCOUT you can just slide it in and it's ready to use.
Vortex Optics Crossfire Red Dot
The reason I choose the VORTEX CROSSFIRE is that I looked for a reliable sight of a reliable company that will be as small as possible for the cheapest price without compromising on quality. It was also important to me that the sight would have a dial and not buttons, for quick brightness choosing.
Another thing that was very important to me was "thermal drift". The SCOUT usually is in my car, and in summer it can get really hot inside, therefore it was important for me to know I can rely on my sight to be on target all times in all temperature. , twice on 5с', and twice in 65с' (since vortex gives a VIP warranty I had no problem testing it a bit) and in between. I did not believe the results so I've given a friend to check it as well, the results were the same. On 10, 30 and 50 meters there was a max change of 3cm, that can easily be a tribute to the shooters abilities. Simply amazing… this chip sight is better than most expansive sights at this point.
The cherry on top of the cake was that the crossfire came to me already zeroed in.
Thank for Zfi-inc for suggesting this option and for all the treatment. Always glad to deal with you.
